Yana Rankine

Yana Rankine, Editor-in-Chief

In her third year on the staff, Yana Rankine has truly been legendary by landing the spot of Editor in Chief. Each year her preference of writing changes, starting strong in news writing her sophomore year, and ending with a passion for feature writing in her senior year. In efforts to avoid her rather strong-minded stance surrounding social issues (especially being a part of the LGBT+ and womanist community), she finds that telling stories through the eyes of others is the best way for her to communicate her underlying message of equity for all. Nonetheless, along with her passion for journalism, she hopes to also pursue a career in sociology, as she feels it is the best fit to aid her in her activism in her near future.

Meet Gabby. Although she still runs today for exercise, she used to use track and running as a way to lose weight, alongside cutting meals.
